Setting up a SRCDS server?...Are you ready ? They(THE PEOPLE AT STEAM) tell you how it is“Its strongly recommended to use the Console version of srcds instead of the Steam GUI version. Here we will use the console version!” why is this so ? well simply it just handles everything better and more smoother basically you won’t see the lag and you will be able to control a lot more than if you ran the GUI version follow the instructions on the SRCDS page , ok let me explain this in a little different detail

download the tool they talk about here make a directory to where you want to install SRCDS in my case I choose my Z: drive I made a folder on the root of Z: and I called it SRCDS and I downloaded the HldsUpdatetool to it , the I executed it by double clicking the application twice after that I ran the rest of the install in the CMD window.

  Run each command separately follow their instructions word for word on  http://www.srcds.com depending on what directory you want to install srcds being the most common is “ c:’ but if you have other available drives such as a z: or x: I would use one of them I don’t recommend installing it on the same root as the os but you can, for reasons on why you shouldn’t I will explain later in my blog. So your in the “CMD” window the one that looks all black and haxorish like stuff happens in the movies woowoo type C: or whatever dir you want srcds to install your CMD window looks like this and after you run the basic commands your ready to download and install the basic part of your SRCDS server. Your CMD window should look like this , Now type this “hldsupdatetool -command update -game "Counter-Strike Source" -dir c:\srcds” in CMD window and hit enter stuff starts automagicaly installing. Should take a bit of time to download all the files. Slow down cowboy there is way more to do after this after that downloads we still will need to add admin and eventscripts and a few other goodies like edit the MOTD and set the rates for the new server and we will need to install bzip and countless other things now you see why so many people spend the money to have someone just build it for them? If you have more time than money than this is the way for you or if you just lovie learning and doing it yourself and aren’t halfway retarded you might just end up with your own server XD.
Ok back to making a server we are going to need to make a few files one is a server configuration file hence the name of the file server.cfg ,and in that file we are going to tell the server basic things to do and to display to clients the easiest way is to start with a cfg maker or copy someone’s server.cfg most the time people won’t share their config file being these are like closely guarded family cooking recipes

Here is a link to cfg makers once you have a server.cfg file you will need to know where to put it, place your server.cfg file in this directory here” c:\srcds\cstrike\cfg” there will be five other files in here as well game.cfg, buypresetsdefault_ct.vdf, buypresetsdefault_ter.vdf, skill1.cfg, valve.rc , along with what you will adding the server.cfg file.

 After that we will need to add a way to run a admin for that we use mani admin and addon eventscripts will also need to be added - study the folder structure in most cases it's just a matter of placing the files in the proper place.

Shift Tab not working in-game (CS:S) - Steam  ?Would you like to know how to fix it ? In your task menu bar next to your clock is the steam icon right click it, go to friends there three settings (status, view, players) select view then select settings, There four tabs to pick from at the top (Account, Friends, Interface, In-game, Downloads, Voice) select In-game make sure this is checked then restart steam you should be good to go.
